TROPICS Data Viewer

This is a dashboard for viewing TROPICS data. There are two ways to select a data file to view: by satellite ID or by association with a tropical storm. In either case you can select a tropical storm basin to restrict a view to - this is to limit the number of drawn pixels for performance purposes. You can select a global view, but expect a loading time of ~15-20 seconds per file.

By Storm

In this view you select a tropical storm to display. The ATCF best track positions of the storm are shown, color coded based on the storm classification similar to the table here. You can then select granules from all TROPICS satellites which overlap the storm path spatially (within 1 KM) and temporally (within 9 hours). The closest storm position to the selected granule is highlighted by a purple star.

Changes to any of the widgets above the "Load File" widget require you to click the "Load File" widget again to change the TROPICS data displayed on the map.
